Ukulele Banjo and Guitar Lessons, In Home and In Studio (Raleigh, Garner Wendell Clayton Knightdale)

If you have a desire to express yourself musically on a string instrument, and you're maybe not sure which instrument to begin to learn- the ukulele is a great way to get started. The soprano ukulele has a such nice mellow, learning chords is much easier compared to guitar, mandolin or banjo and a quality ukulele can be bought for under a $100. There are many ukulele books available for playing songs of your choice with a few beginning chords. And, the ukulele can be a good introduction instrument to playing other instruments such as guitar- if that might be a personal goal.

I teach in home lessons for ukulele, banjo and guitar to ages 5 & up in the Raleigh, Garner, Wendell and Knightdale areas on Monday, Thursday afternoon/evening and on Saturdays . I offer lessons in individual and group settings.. Learning music theory (as it relates to the student's progress); developing a sense of rhythm, phrasing & melody are also part of the lessons, as well as learning the fundamentals of learning to read music. (Some students may choose not learn reading of music as part of lessons, so we can base lessons on developing knowledge of chords & developing rhythms & learning chosen songs.

I also offer lessons in music studios in Clayton, Raleigh and Knightdale where the student comes to one of these locations in that is your preference.

I hope you enjoy these student pictures. Also, if you put in Google 'facebook Charlie Nick, click more and videos, I have posted many videos of my students performing.

Whether you are a beginning student of music, or looking to advance your musicianship- the advantages of my teaching is that I will progressively teach students the elements & fundamentals of their chosen instrument that I have learned over many years. So, you (the student) will receive a carefully designed lesson by lesson learning of what musical knowledge I have accumulated, but taught at a pace comfortable to each student depending on their rate of progress.

I am a graduate of Music Education with 25 years teaching experience. I have students at the very beginning of instrument studies & others who are playing advanced techniques in folk, country, rock, blues, and classical music. Students that can not read music notation begin simple reading exercises of note recognition, time signatures, note values, eye hand coordination and more.

Home Lesson rates are $26 for 30 min, $35 for 45 min & $45 for hour lessons. Depending on driving distance to your home, there may be an additional charge. Also rates are adjusted to less for additional students in home and in group lessons. As many music schools and acadamies require a contract, I do not. I do ask for a months notice prior to ending of lessons. Please contact or email through CL.

THANKS for your Interest! Feel free to ask me questions on lesson content, time & day scheduling for lessons or other questions that come to mind.
